Our organic golden berries are also called Inca berries, Peruvian groundcherry, poha berry, goldenberry, husk cherry and cape gooseberry. They are bright, orange-colored fruits that are closely related to the tomatillo.
Slightly smaller than cherry tomatoes, these fruits have a sweet, tropical taste somewhat reminiscent of pineapple and mango. Inca berries are affectionately known as the ''healthy sour skittle'', thanks to their mouth-tingling combination of sweet and sour. They're perfect for adding flavour to meals, protein balls, or simply eating as a snack.
They may look and taste like dried berries, but they are in fact more closely related to a tomato than a raspberry. When fresh, they resemble small, yellow cherry tomatoes, but once dried they taste more sweet and tart, like a berry.
